Kate Middleton just celebrated World Photography Day with a beautiful tribute on Instagram


In addition to her royal duties, Kate Middleton likes to spend time on the side perfecting it photography skills. Over the years, she has shown her talents in take portraits of various family members and even compile a photography book at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, naturally, it makes sense that the Duchess of Cambridge would want to mark a holiday that celebrates one of her favorite pastimes.

Last Friday, August 19, it was world photography dayand Middleton made sure to acknowledge the special day on the Instagram account she shares with husband Prince William.

However, instead of doing any old regular post, Middleton took the opportunity to spotlight four British photographers whose work she admires. A picture of each of the performers was shared on the royal’s Instagram, along with a caption that read: ‘There are so many incredibly talented young photographers in Britain today, that’s why this #WorldPhotography Day we spotlight four people who have been supported by @nationalportraitgallery and @royalphotographicsociety, and are doing amazing things.

The four lucky photographers were Kymara Akinpelumi, Sadie Catt, Isabel Salmon and Rueben Kidd, who each received a short bio in the rest of the Instagram caption.

It looks like Middleton chose well, as royal supporters showed their admiration for the photos in the comments section, like one user who said, “Gorgeous photos. Another wrote: “Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing!” The official National Portrait Gallery account also chimed in, writing, “Such amazing photos and great photographers, we can’t wait to see what they do next!”

Over the past few years, Middleton has always found unique ways to celebrate World Photography Day. For example, in 2019 the Duchess of Cambridge worked with the Royal Photographic Society to lead a photography workshop with children from the charity Action for Children. Then a number of photos taken by one of the participants were share on the Duchess’ official Instagram.
