Managing Director and Regional Director of Ecobank Nigeria Limited, Bolaji Lawal, assured that the Bank will continue to provide a platform to harness and propel the creative industry in Nigeria.

The Managing Director made the promise during the Photography, Art, and Design Exhibition (PADE) event organized by the Bank to commemorate this year’s World Photography Day in Lagos.

The Managing Director reaffirmed the bank’s commitment and determination to contribute to sustainable economic development, working with young people, the local community and society as a whole to improve the quality of life, in a way that is both good for business and national development.

Mr. Lawal, who was represented by Executive Director/Chief Risk Officer, Biyi Olagbami, remarked that Nigeria has an assemblage of articulate and creative minds who have demonstrated their love for the profession and are telling the story. in many ways through their lenses, and that as a pan-African bank, part of Ecobank’s vision is to serve as a platform to harness and fuel the creativity of the African continent.

According to him, “For us as a bank, we decided to commemorate World Photography Day understanding that it was an opportunity to help showcase the brilliance of Nigerian creatives to the world. part of our current strategy as a pan-African bank to maintain our legacy as the mainstay of the creative industry in Nigeria, providing a platform to harness and propel creative talent across the African continent”.

The masterclass session facilitators, including veteran creative photographer, painter and artist, Kelechi Amadi-Obi; Pocket lawyers, Ngozi Nwabueze; ace photojournalist, Pius Utomi Ekpei, Agence France-Presse (AFP); Fine art photographer August Udoh and creative director/photographer Yemi Disu praised the pan-African bank, noting that such massive corporate support and partnership would further spur the growth of art and business. photography business. According to Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Ecobank deserves kudos for identifying with photographers on World Photography Day, urging other companies to emulate the bank. For his part, Ngozi Nwabueze, dwelt on the copyright of the images and the legal structure to protect their works. She walked them through the legal steps and listed the benefits of ensuring their works are protected by the relevant provisions of the laws. Ecobank’s Photography, Arts, Design (PADE) Exhibition is a fun and memorable 3-day event held from Friday August 19 to Sunday August 21, 2022. It is themed “A Canvas for African Creatives” and attends an assemblage of creative influencers in photography, visual arts, vocal and dramatic arts, and design. The event which is open to the public features a collage of portrait photographers, event photographers, landscape artist photographers and basically everyone with lenses to capture moments and frame memories in time.
